Michigan Lottery Recognizes Problem Gambling Awareness Month in March

Problem Gambling Awareness MonthMarch is Problem Gambling Awareness Month, and the Michigan Lottery has ed the National Council on Problem Gambling (NG) to help increase public awareness of problem gambling and highlight the availability of prevention, treatment, and recovery services in the state of Michigan.

“March is Problem Gambling Awareness Month, and the Lottery is proud to the National Council on Problem Gambling to help raise awareness about problem gambling and the resources available to help Michiganders,” said Michigan Lottery Suzanna Shkreli. “The National Problem Gambling Helpline, 1-800-GAMBLER, is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, to provide confidential and resources to those who may need assistance.”

As Problem Gambling Awareness Month begins, the Lottery reminds players that the Michigan Problem Gambling Helpline is available to provide free, one-on-one for players who may have a problem. For confidential help 24 hours-a-day, seven days-a-week, players may call 1-800-GAMBLER. Chat and text options also are available and are listed at www.michiganmilotteryconnect.casinowinning.net.

In fiscal year 2024, the Lottery provided $1 million to the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services to fund statewide education and treatment programs for problem gambling. Additionally, the Lottery’s online services include enhanced responsible gaming resources including:

  • A variety of self-exclusion periods
  • Daily and weekly deposit limits
  • Daily loss limits
  • A variety of cool off periods
  • Age verification at registration
  • Play history to monitor gaming activity

Since its inception in 1972, the Lottery has been committed to promoting responsible gaming to players across the state. More Than $290 Million in Prizes Up For Grabs in New $6,000,000 Wealth Instant Game from the Michigan Lottery

The new $6,000,000 Wealth instant game is giving Michigan Lottery players a chance to win up to $6 million instantly and a new second chance opportunity to win $50,000!

$6,000,000 Wealth is scheduled to launch March 4 and will offer players a chance to win more than $290 million in total prizes. Each ticket costs $50 and will give players 50 chances to win a prize ranging from $50 up to $6 million.

Each non-winning ticket will be eligible for a second chance to win a $50,000 prize, with $2 million in total second chance prizes available. Players can enter by scanning their non-winning $6,000,000 Wealth tickets on the Michigan Lottery mobile app ticket scanner by November 28, 2025. A total of 10 second chance drawings will be conducted. Each drawing will award four $50,000 prizes.

Wayne County Lottery Club Wins $1 Million Mega Millions Prize

The of the New Beginnings lottery club are looking forward to being debt-free after winning $1 million playing the Michigan Lottery’s Mega Millions game.

“The club doesn’t play Mega Millions often, but felt lucky and decided to buy a ticket,” said the club’s representative and spokesperson, Anthony Jabbour. “When our member with the ticket checked the numbers and saw five matches, he cried tears of joy!”

“Congratulations to the aptly named ‘New Beginnings Lottery Club’ on their life-changing $1 million Mega Millions win that will allow the to erase their debts,” said Lottery Commissioner Suzanna Shkreli. “All Lottery players dream of winning big, and this is just one example of that dream coming true for a group of Michiganders.”

The lottery club matched the five white balls in the Nov. 5 Mega Millions drawing to win $1 million: 02-24-25-52-58. They bought the winning ticket at the Wayne Med Mart, located at 417 South Wayne Road in Westland.

The club recently visited Lottery headquarters to claim the big prize. With their winnings they plan to pay bills and then save the remainder.

“To be debt-free is what we have all dreamed about, so to see that become a reality is truly a dream come true,” said Jabbour.

Mega Millions drawings take place each Tuesday and Friday evening. Each Mega Millions play is only $2. For an additional $1 per play, players have the opportunity to add a “Megaplier” that can multiply non-jackpot prizes by up to five times. Mega Millions tickets are sold in 45 states, Washington D.C., and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Macomb County Lottery Club Wins $1.1 Million Lotto 47 Jackpot from the Michigan Lottery

Winning TicketLonging for nostalgia led to a Macomb County lottery club winning a $1.1 million Lotto 47 jackpot from the Michigan Lottery.

The lucky players matched the six Lotto 47 numbers drawn – 09-15-16-30-40-44 – in the Dec. 14, 2024 drawing to win a $1.1 million jackpot. They bought the winning ticket at Liquor Land, located at 17934 East 9 Mile Road in Eastpointe.

“I bought the ticket for my father as a birthday gift,” said the club’s representative. “I don’t buy tickets often, but when I do I always buy them at Liquor Land because I my father always bought tickets there when I was a kid.

“When my dad checked the ticket after the drawing, he had to look at it more than a few times to believe what he was seeing.”

“What a memorable birthday gift for a son to give to his father,” said Lottery Commissioner Suzanna Shkreli. “Topping this gift will be nearly impossible, but sharing such a wonderful memory – and a jackpot win – with your family is priceless!”

The club recently visited Lottery headquarters to claim their big prize. They chose to receive the prize as a one-time lump sum of about $763,000 rather than annuity payments for the full amount.

With their winnings, the club plan to pay bills and invest the remainder in a business.

Each Lotto 47 play is only $1. Players select six numbers from one to 47 for a chance to win a jackpot starting at $1 million and that grows until someone wins it. For an additional $1 per play, Double Play may be added to a Lotto 47 ticket, giving players a second chance to win up to $1.5 million in the nightly Double Play drawing. For an additional $1 per game, players may add EZMatch to their ticket for a chance to win up to $500 instantly. One Month Left to Claim $25,000 a Year for Life Lucky For Life Prize; Winning Ticket Bought in Livonia

The winning ticket matched the five white balls drawn March 26, 2024 – 18-25-34-39-48. It was sold at Merriman Drugs, located at 31320 5 Mile Road in Livonia.

“One month remains for the lucky winner of a $25,000 a year for life Lucky For Life prize to come forward,” said Lottery Commissioner Suzanna Shkreli. “I urge everyone who may have bought a Lucky For Life ticket at Merriman Drugs in Livonia to double check their tickets to make sure they aren’t overlooking a big winner.”

The winner should the Lottery’s Player Relations division at 844-917-6325 to schedule an appointment to collect the big prize. The prize must be claimed at the Lottery’s headquarters in Lansing.

Lucky For Life tickets are valid for one year from the drawing date. The prize must be claimed by 4:45 p.m. on March 26.

If the prize isn’t claimed before the ticket expires, the money will go to the state School Aid Fund.

The Lucky For Life game was exceptionally lucky for Michigan Lottery players in 2024, with 14 players winning a $25,000 a year for life prize.

For just $2 per play, Lucky For Life gives Lottery players a chance to win prizes ranging from $3 to a lifetime of cash. To win the game’s top prize of $1,000 a day for life, players must match all five winning numbers ranging from 1 to 48, plus one Lucky Ball ranging from 1 to 18.
