A Michigan Lottery player has the Megaplier to thank after winning a $5 million Mega Millions prize.
A lucky player matched the five white balls in the Sept. 24 drawing to win $1 million: 01-06-10-23-27. Thanks to the Megaplier, the prize was multiplied to $5 million. The winning ticket was bought at the Chillbox Convenience Store, located at 29801 West 9 Mile Road in Farmington Hills.
“Tuesday’s Mega Millions drawing made a lucky Michigander a multi-millionaire with a $5 million prize hit,” said Lottery Commissioner, Suzanna Shkreli. “As the growing Mega Millions jackpot approaches $100 million, players are taking notice and helping drive sales which means more money for Michigan schools.”
The lucky winner should the Lottery’s Player Relations division at 844-917-6325 to claim the prize. Mega Millions prizes must be claimed within one year from the date of the drawing.
Mega Millions drawings take place each Tuesday and Friday evening. Each Mega Millions play is only $2. For an additional $1 per play, players have the opportunity to add a “Megaplier” that can multiply non-jackpot prizes by up to five times. Mega Millions tickets are sold in 45 states, Washington D.C., and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
