Oakland County Man Wins $100,000 Playing the Michigan Lottery’s $300,000,000 Extraordinaire Second Chance Game

Stack of MoneyAn Oakland County man unknowingly entered $300,000,000 Extraordinaire tickets for a second chance and ended up winning a $100,000 prize!

The 63-year-old player, who chose to remain anonymous, won $100,000 after he was selected in a random drawing that took place Sept. 10. He earned entries into the giveaway by scanning non-winning $300,000,000 Extraordinaire tickets on the Michigan Lottery app.

“I scan my $300,000,000 Extraordinaire tickets to check if I won or not, but I had no idea I was entering a second chance drawing when scanning the non-winners,” said the player. “I got a call from the Lottery telling me I’d won $100,000 in the second chance drawing and I said: ‘You’re kidding me, right?’ It seemed too good to be true. Later that day, I found an email in my spam folder regarding the prize, and I knew it must be real.

“This all still feels so unbelievable. I never imagined I’d be making this type of trip to Lansing!”

The lucky player recently visited Lottery headquarters to claim his prize. With his winnings, he plans to help others and save.

Each non-winning $300,000,000 Extraordinaire ticket is eligible for a second chance to win a $100,000 prize. Players can enter by scanning their non-winning $300,000,000 Extraordinaire tickets on the Michigan Lottery mobile app ticket scanner by May 2, 2025. Nine more second chance drawings will be conducted. Each drawing will award two $100,000 prizes.

Players can visit Michiganmilotteryconnect.casinowinning.net/secondchance50 for complete game rules and drawing dates. The next drawing is scheduled for Oct. 1.
