A Shelby Township man hasn’t stopped shaking since he found out he won a $100,000 Fantasy 5 jackpot from the Michigan Lottery!

Joe Forbert, 69, matched the Fantasy 5 numbers in the May 17 drawing to win the big prize: 05-13-17-23-34. He bought his winning ticket at the Meijer store, located at 3175 South Rochester Road in Rochester Hills.

“I have been playing Fantasy 5 since the game began,” said Forbert. “I used to always play Easy Pick numbers, but I picked this set of numbers out in December and have been playing it since.

“When I saw the winning numbers on TV the night of the drawing, I couldn’t believe my eyes! I knew I won big, but I quickly got online to see if I’d split the jackpot with anyone. When I saw one winner and the address the winning ticket was purchased at, I shouted: ‘Yup, that’s me!’ I don’t think I’ve stopped shaking since I found out I won. I am over the moon excited!”

Forbert recently visited Lottery headquarters to claim his big prize. With his winnings, he plans to purchase a new car and then save the remainder.

Each Fantasy 5 play is only $1. For an additional $1 per play, EZmatch may be added to a Fantasy 5 ticket, giving players a chance to win up to $500 instantly. For an additional $1 per play, Double Play may be added to a Fantasy 5 ticket, giving players a second chance to win up to $110,000 in the nightly Double Play drawing. Players may win prizes in the regular nightly drawing, the Double Play drawing, or both. Fantasy 5 players select five numbers from one to 39. Players who match all five Fantasy 5 numbers drawn win a jackpot that starts at $100,000.
