Flint Man Wins $1 Million Powerball Prize from the Michigan Lottery

Winning TicketA Flint man’s body went numb when he found out he’d won a $1 million Powerball prize from the Michigan Lottery.

Jackie McCloud, 55, matched the five white balls in the May 8 drawing to win the big prize: 07-41-43-44-51. He bought his winning ticket at the Forward Pinconning Marathon, located at 511 South Mable Street in Pinconning. Pinconning is about 30 miles north of Saginaw.

“I scanned my Powerball ticket at a store to check it and got a message to see the retailer,” said McCloud. “I thought something was wrong with the scanner, so I took it to a different retailer. The worker looked the ticket over and told me I’d won big, but I still didn’t know how much.

“I took my ticket to the Michigan Lottery office and that’s when I found out it was worth $1 million! My whole body went numb.”

McCloud visited Lottery headquarters recently to claim his prize. With his winnings, he plans to travel and then save the remainder.

Powerball plays may be purchased for $2 each at Lottery retailers across the state and online at Michiganmilotteryconnect.casinowinning.net. A “Power Play” option that multiplies non-jackpot prizes by up to 10 times to a maximum of $2 million may be added to any Powerball play for only $1. For an additional $1 per play, Double Play may be added to a Powerball ticket, giving players a second chance to win up to $10 million in the nightly Double Play drawing.

The Powerball drawing takes place at 10:59 p.m. on Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday and may be watched live online at: http://milotteryconnect.casinowinning.net. Powerball tickets are sold in 45 states, Washington D.C., U.S. Virgin Islands, and Puerto Rico.
