St. Clair County Man Wins $200,000 Powerball Prize from the Michigan Lottery

Mark Scott holding $200,000 checkA St. Clair County man was trembling and could barely speak when he won a $200,000 Powerball prize from the Michigan Lottery!

Mark Scott, of Wales Township, matched four white balls and the Powerball – 10-11-26-27-34, PB: 07 – in the Dec. 30 drawing to win a $50,000 prize. Thanks to the Power Play, the prize was multiplied to $200,000. He bought his winning ticket online at Michiganmilotteryconnect.casinowinning.net. Wales Township is about 20 miles west of Port Huron.

“I bought a few Powerball tickets online since the jackpot was getting close to $1 billion,” said Scott. “The day after the drawing, I had an email from the Lottery that I had never seen before. It had instructions on claiming my prize, but it didn’t show how much I’d won.

“When I logged in to my Lottery and saw I’d won $200,000, I was shocked! I called my sister, but I couldn’t get the words out to tell her I’d won because I was trembling. Winning feels so surreal!”

Scott, 47, visited Lottery headquarters recently to claim his prize. He plans to share his winnings with his kids.

Powerball plays may be purchased for $2 each at Lottery retailers across the state and online at Michiganmilotteryconnect.casinowinning.net. A “Power Play” option that multiplies non-jackpot prizes by up to 10 times to a maximum of $2 million may be added to any Powerball play for only $1. For an additional $1 per play, Double Play may be added to a Powerball ticket, giving players a second chance to win up to $10 million in the nightly Double Play drawing.

The Powerball drawing takes place at 10:59 p.m. on Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday and may be watched live online at: http://milotteryconnect.casinowinning.net. Powerball tickets are sold in 45 states, Washington D.C., U.S. Virgin Islands, and Puerto Rico.
